Umatilla chemical depot

Another real place in Oregon! Umatilla chemical depot. Location created to use by game like Fallout! :)

Music

Some time ago while playing Fallout of Nevada I noticed few new music songs attached to game. I heard many attempts to invent new music for fallout mods, but this was first time when this stuff sounds like original Morgan's Fallout music. Here link if someone is interested - https://archive.org/details/NobodysNailMachine-falloutOfNevadaOst
Due to fact that this music is openly shared for non-commercial use I will implement few songs to my FOnline project. Would shame to not use such brilliant tunes. :)

Awareness

I don't plan to add names/HP/crippling over head, this crap hurt game and even if is helpful in pvp there is no reason to keep it in singleplayer adventur, so I implemented only this simple on-mouse info. Would be enough for sure. I'm not sure if I keep Awareness perk like in original TLA , maybe I will make it unlockable by some quest or just after some exp/level.

Interface

After some tests I decided to implement Tiny Tank interface by Jinxed Jack as default. Using old Fallout interface is not optimal. Using modern FOnline interfaces like Pure black, Stolen evil or other gui mods for pvp apes is also not good idea. Making yourself interface is hard and long task. Well, so choice was clear. Tiny Tank is one of the best FOnline interfaces since 2238, falloutish, functional, just perfect! Of course is not so easy implement interface to from one game to other. I used Tiny Tank Fonline2 version and some things fit well, some other not. I was forced to remade or invent few screens. For example load/save screen not exist so I maked one. Is not perfect, but god damn it is Fallout! :)

Corvega

I'm really sure that such awesome car as corvega is hidden in some abandoned shack somewhere in Oregon. ;)
In old fallouts real corvega was mentioned in intro movie, also as some wrecks ingame.

Some FOnline servers using this model, but it looks too massive for me.

I tried to remade this model a bit, it is result (crashed version):

I will need to test this car in game.

Splash images

Probably I will keep few original Fallout splash screens, just I will chnge some details. Looks like I will be forced to use prehistoric Alchemy software to edit these rix files. I don't want to dig in fallout dat, I will just drop new rix splash images to data to override these in dat.
Alchemy reminds me my old Commodore 64.

Worldmap

Well, I'm slowly going to end of creating map for game. This one is really close to my end goal in this case.

Kelly Butte Fallout Shelter

During my research to find some unique locations in Oregon I've found some resources about some forgotten, but real fallout shelter in Portland - Kelly Butte. Awesome stuff!

Fallout canon vs. Oregon

There is not much about Oregon in whole Fallout story, Fallout Bible or some other canon and non-canon sources. In Fallout 4 Portland is mentioned by some NPC. In cancelled Fallout Extreme some locations were planned to be made in Oregon. But what in real. Fallouts? Well, in F1 nothing, but no suprise. In F2 we had Oregonian Cannibals and not much more (Klamath, Arroyo and Toxic caves are part of Oregon, but it is almost without matter). Of course lack of Oregon's presence in Fallout universum is not helpful, but from other side it is positive fact coz it means that I have free way to act. My goal is to keep connection with Fallout spirit, logic and timeline as far as it is possible, but with keeping specific character of this area.
Fallout timeline split with our timeline in 50 years of XX century so most reasonable will be not to use any real locations or other things created/established after this time. Sierra Army Depot known from F2 is nice example what and how real locations should be implemented to not break game.

FOnline SDK

I had plan to use FOnline 2238 SDK (or Reloaded, but it is almost the same) as base to my mod, but after some tests and considerations I decided to use original FOnline SDK revision 412. It is last stable revision what support both DirectX and GL graphic modes, to that this version of engine is a bit newer than 2238. Other crucial thing is fact that this SDK fully support such fundamental singleplayer options like saving/loading game.

Map

I've decided to use whole area of Oregon State with some terrain around and in result game map will had similiar proportions like Fallout 2 map, but will be a bit bigger. I think it will be enough or even more than enough. I can imagine that post-war Oregon would be far more wild, abandoned and deserted than it is in real so bigger map not force me to make 2 x more content to fill this area.

Hey ho, lets go!

New site, new engine, new concept... Bye Fallout, hello FOnline.
